The Craig C. Marshall Scholarship Foundation, a nonprofit organization, was founded in January 2010 and stands to commemorate and celebrate the life of Craig Clinton Marshall. Our goal is to inspire young people to live a life of integrity, empathy, humility, maturity, and generosity. By awarding a scholarship based on these qualities, we seek to encourage the youth of our community to stand firm against the negative influences of our society and to seek out a higher purpose for their lives.

The Craig C. Marshall Scholarship will be given annually to a graduating senior at Topsail High School in Hampstead, North Carolina, where Craig Marshall attended. During his time as a student at Topsail High School, Craig demonstrated strength of character and maturity beyond his fifteen years. He sought a higher purpose for his life by nourishing his faith and his relationships with family and friends. He was an active member of the surfing and skateboarding communities, a member of youth ministries at both Wesleyan Chapel United Methodist Church and Scott’s Hill Baptist Church, and a member of Boy Scout Troop 234 on the path to becoming an Eagle Scout. Craig also made a conscious point to befriend many different types of people. By concentrating on positive activities, Craig was able to stay focused on what he felt was most important in his life.

Our sincerest hope is to have a positive influence on the youth of our community by recognizing and honoring those whose strength enables them to make the right choices when faced with adversity. We constantly strive to encourage young people of all backgrounds and talents to live their lives in this manner.
